The new Hancock's Fabric is now open in Clarksville, IN. Behind the Steak'n Shake off 131. Stopped in on my way home from work and batiks were 50% off. Came home with this sparkly piece, 2 1/2 yards, and now I have a little jacket.
Bought the pattern from Abby's Fabric and Notions at the Columbus Quilter's Day in November of last year. Have been wanting to get the nerve to try sewing for me and it turned out fairly well. I washed and dried the fabric before I started on this project since it is a wearable. I don't generally pre-wash quilt fabrics.
I started cutting out the pieces about 9 p.m. By midnight it was finished except for the tiny bit of handwork around the back of the next on the facing.
Yeah rah! I will see if I stay with this size or downsize just a bit. But it is comfortable....at least at midnight!
I also have another piece of fabric to make a second one in a blue-red with embellishments! I can hardly wait to see how it turns out.
